Pokémon TCG — Playmat Artwork

This is a project I worked on for a close friend of mine who regularly plays Pokémon: The Trading Card Game [TCG]. He wanted a unique and custom artwork, for his card playmat, themed around his favorite deck. The theme was built around Roaring Moon, being the core Pokemon of the deck in question. Roaring Moon is a fearsome dragon-dark type Pokemon. In the composition, it is soaring the sky upon a bright full moon, and instilling a trembling fear in the Ghost-Type Pokemon living in the forest beneath. Various ghost-type Pokemon, such as Ghastly and Duskull, are running away from the looming threat. While others, such as Sableye, hide away in the trees, and a fearless Gengar faces the looming threat with a grin on his face. The design was sketched by hand and then colored and outlined in Procreate and Adobe Photoshop. The original work, intended for a 24x14" print and production, is set in a CMYK workspace.
